Tye Sheridan has a penchant for playing darker characters these days. He says he developed the interest naturally after getting his first big break in a film like Mud, Jeff Nichols’ quixotic slice of transcendentalist noir, but it has carried through in his other roles—perhaps even to Cyclops in Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.
