Xiaomi has officially confirmed that its upcoming Mi 5 flagship smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 SoC. The confirmation came in the form of a Weibo post from the company’s co-founder and Senior VP Liwan Jiang.

In addition to confirming SD820 chipset, Jiang also revealed that the Mi 5 has entered mass production and the company is making sure that there’s enough stock when the handset is released, which he said will happen after the Chinese Spring Festival next month.
